Dad's first bike race

This weekend Chris and his buddies biked in a 12 hour race in Mesa Verde. While the bikers raced Laurel and I hung out and cheered them on. Laurel was a great supporter of her dad. She had so much fun she had to crash out for a little nap in the "rest"tent for the bikers. So cute, I can't stand it!!

Laurel's new tricks

Wow, she is so much fun. While we were in Florida few weeks ago Laurel rolled over by herself for the very first time. I was so excited.. I was screaming for my mom to look, look. I think I startled her, but she rolled with pride.
She rolled over at 4 months and she continues to roll like a champ and she is scooting lots too. The other day I looked over and she had scooted half way across the blanket towards her toy. Laurel is also just about ready to sit up on her own.

After MUCH debate and multiple conversations Chris and I decided to give our little Laurel some solid food... yes the yummy organic rice cereal. She has been grabbing our spoons, coffee cups and has been trying to eat things off of our plates etc. for over a month so last week we gave her some cereal. I never thought I would give her solids before 7 months, but I guess she really wanted it because she smiled like crazy and opened her mouth right up. YUMMMMM. Trust me it was a hard decision, but she seems to really like. We will keep you posted..we are thinking mashed bananas next.

Laurel is also loving the exersaucer (I think that is what it is called-we got it as a hand me down) She looks pretty happy, huh?

Family vacations

Before Laurel and I left for Florida we hiked part of the Grand Canyon and boy was it hot and it was only April. We couldn't imagine hiking it in the summer! We had a great trip to Florida and it was super fun to see our family. Laurel went to the beach in her cute "little" swim suit, but we had to be careful not to be in the sun for too long...we had a great time anyway. We went from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean in a matter of 24 hours. We are so lucky to have such amazing little traveler, we traveled clear across the country with barely a peep. She did great and we had a wonderful time seeing our friends the Bermans in San Diego. It was so fun to spend our family vacations together. We went to the beach and Laurel even went to her first Aquarium. There was certainly a lot for her to look at fish, sharks and lots of bright lights oh boy. We are back on the rez for a while and then we will go to Durango for Chris' bike race.
