More Easter photos

Happy Easter

This past weekend we celebrated Easter with Laurel. Unfortunately the weather was not so good, but despite the weather we had a little Easter egg hunt with a few children from the neighborhood. I should mention that all the children were under the age of 3....so there were lots of instructions about how to actualy find the eggs and then how to place them into the basket with out opening each one! It was pretty funny. We also dyed eggs and Laurel loved that project. We wore our matching spring aprons that my mom sent us and Laurel had a ball rolling and smashing the eggs in the bowls of dye. You can see the repercussions of that...GREEN HANDS.

Laurel and I have been very busy. I just made a large online shopping trip to Discount School Supplies. I use to use this site all the time when I was teaching, but now it has proven to come in handy with Laurel too. She is having so much fun exploring with art and loves to try new things. The other day she painted for the first time and loved it. She was not hesitant at all...although she didn't like it when she got the paint on her hands. Today she used some bingo bottle to do some painting. She enjoyed organizing the bottles more than she did painting with them. Maybe tomorrow? So here are a few pictures of Laurel's masterpieces and her using the bingo bottles to paint. They are pretty much mess free and easy to use; even for a 15 month old.

Last week we went to Albuquerque to buy a Chariot so Chris could take Laurel on his bike rides..so far it has not been loved as much as we(he) hoped it would be. She LOVES the helmet and getting into the chariot, but once we start riding not so much. We are hoping it gets better as she become more comfortable. The helmet that is a whole new love. She wants to wear it ALL THE TIME and cries if we try to take it off. I guess she got the "saftey first" mentality from her dad.

Music is good for the soul...

laurel has received several musical instruments and she absolutely loves music. She seems to thoroughly enjoy the rhythm. Since she was about 6 months old she was bopping to music. She continues to dance, tap her hands on her knees and clap whenever music comes on. We were in a restaurant a few weeks ago and the lady next to us was stirring her coffee and the spoon was making a rhythmic sounds and ..... yep, Laurel started dancing. She is a dancing fool.

Laurel has entered a whole new stage of fun. Oh my gosh she has me in stitches almost everyday. We are having a wonderful time. Laurel is talking up a storm and has quite the vocab for a little one. Her newest is PLEASE..we are raising her right I guess. She inherited a new tricycle from our friend the Willis' and she is in love with it. We spent at least an hour riding around outside on our back porch. This is the only time I have ever seen her do something for more than 10 minutes. She might just be a biker like her daddy. We also have a little artist on our hands. She has been painting, coloring with markers (when she doesn't put them in her mouth) and using crayons. It has been so fun to watch her create.
Life is good. We spent last weekend in Telluride. They have a lovely kid friendly library where we went everyday. She loves playing with other kids and pointed to all the babies and said, "bebe" as if she is not a baby. Too funny!
